Hey! Here are some tips and ride ideas to know before visiting Disneyland, California!
Hotel Tip: If you are looking to spend the night, stay at the Grand Californian hotel. It is better than the Disneyland hotel, but again, that’s just our opinion!
Park Tip: Are you tired of walking and want a fun place to relax and hang out? We recommend going to the Enchanted Tiki Room! Outside of the Tiki Room, they have an amazing pineapple stand that has Dairy Free Pineapple Dole Whip, which is like frozen yogurt, and pineapple juice! Inside, it is an amazing cute show with Talking Tiki Birds! If you visit, make sure to say Hi to the bird named “Michael” for us, will you? In fact, the Enchanted Tiki Room is what inspired the name for this blog!
Clothing Tip: Make sure to not wear anything fancy or something that you love or really care about because basically your clothes will get soaking wet from the water rides, all germy because you know that little baby just peed on the seat, and pretty dang faded because it will be hot. Also, it could get ripped on the rides. Make sure to wear lots of layers in case it’s unexpectedly cold or hot. Hats are great for the sun and the cold. Also, make sure not to wear short shorts or skirts without shorts, tights, or leggings underneath because the seats are not exactly the best quality.
Weather Tip: Being true Californians, we know the weather. It’s mostly from 75-95 degrees fahrenheit. Although California mostly has sunny weather, it has rained before! Make sure to check the weather in Anaheim California before you come.
Fast Passes: We highly recommend fast passes! They are great if you really want to hit the rides with long lines! Just buy your fast passes in the morning, and come back to the same ride later when it’s the time for your fast pass and enjoy almost line free rides! Tip: Buy fast passes in 30 minute intervals because you don’t want all of your fast pass times to be at the same time! Otherwise, you may not have time for all of them!
Long Line Tips: If you get stuck in a long line for a ride with no Fast Passes, we recommend getting some snacks (Cotton candy, popcorn, etc.) and get this app called “Charades!” There are lots of versions of the game, and all of them are fantastic! We always get compliments when we play with the app in line!
Ride Tips: (Disneyland) (We only wrote the rides we have been on together)
Alice in Wonderland: We personally didn’t like this ride. We waited 45 minutes, and it was definitely not worth it. The ride wasn’t in order, and it was really boring. The only way it could be fun is if you are 7 years old or less, otherwise, we don’t recommend it. We were really startled by the flowers.
Big Thunder Mountain: This is one of our favorite rides! It was awesome awesome awesome! It might be scary for small children, it’s pretty fast and the “explosives” are loud. Even we had to cover our ears at times. You may get motion sick if you have severe motion sickness. It’s kind of like a roller coaster, but you are in a train! We loved it! Definitely one of our top 3 favorite rides.
Carousel: This is super fun! We both were ponies, and it was wonderful! Funny to see the faces of the babies when they ride it!
Enchanted Tiki Room: Not really a ride, but it’s amazing! That’s what inspired the name of this blog and the theme! Our favorite “Tiki Bird” is Michael! You can find Michael the bird on the right ride of the tiki room, and he is Yellow, Green, and Blue. We sat right under him! He has a nameplate on his perch that says “Michael.” Also, don’t miss the Dole Whip and Pineapple Juice outside of the tiki room! It’s amazing!
Haunted Mansion: AMAZING RIDE! Taylor here, does an amazing impression of the dude in the beginning pre show: “Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination, hmm? And consider this dismaying observation: This chamber has no windows and no doors, which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! Of course, there’s always my way. *scream, lights go off, dead girl hangs from ceiling.* ” Haha. Anyways, it’s really fun, and not that scary! Definitely ages 7 and up though. We actually get frightened by the popping zombie jump scares that happen at the graveyard scene. Overall, GREAT RIDE!
It’s a Small World: Really adorable ride! Even if you’re not the set age (1-7), It’s a Small World is a really cute ride! It’s not fast or scary, but heck is it entertaining! The song gets stuck in your head instantly and the little dolls from around the world are strangely appealing and entertaining! Ultimately, an adorable ride that will appeal to babies and teenagers alike!
Jungle Cruise: Awesome and hilarious ride! Tip: Sit in the front next to the driver! He/she will most likely talk to you and embarrass you in front of the whole boat , but it will be awesome! Trust us! We sat in the front wearing our Minnie Mouse ears and he said, “…Yeah, these people evolving to have these really big ears and I just don’t…*turns to us* Oh hi, we were just talking about you! *People in boat start laughing*”. Basically, you get in a boat and travel around the “jungle” where you bump into piranhas and natives, and listen to the tour guide joke around (it’s actually funny) and embarrass the people in the front! Woo hoo! But really, it’s an awesome ride!
Pinocchio’s Daring Journey: Actually, this ride was pretty boring! It was stupid, creepy (not in a good way), and not fun at all! That’s about it…basically, don’t waste your time.
Pirates of the Caribbean: IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, the drops are the best part (especially the really big drop)! The rest of it isn’t exactly boring, but it’s not as good as some other rides…overall, pretty great but not amazing!
Space Mountain: BEST RIDE EVER!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS CRAZY AND SUPER SUPER SUPER FUN!!!!!! Basically, you’re on a roller-coaster in the dark and you go through “space” really, really fast! This is kind of scary and not recommended for 7 and under. If you have motion sickness, you probably shouldn’t go on this ride either! THIS IS OUR FAVORITE RIDE, but it’s not for everyone.
Splash Mountain: IT’S AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! The singing birds are kind of weird…but the drops make up for it!!!! The drops are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN!!!!! The biggest one will definitely make you scream in excitement and fright!!!!!
Winnie the Pooh: It’s adorable yet not very amusing. If you are under 8 years old this ride’s for you! If you are not, only go on it if all the other rides have super long lines and you are craving adorableness!
Ride Tips: (California Adventure) (Only a few of the rides are listed)
Goofy’s Sky School: This ride was ok. The turns are scary! We personally wouldn’t try to ride it again.
Grizzly River Rapids: Pretty interesting. You don’t really get wet except for the end. You’re kind of wondering when you can get off and ride something else.
Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train: We loved it! So babyish and adorable! At one point, it smells like animal crackers! It makes you hungry, and it’s awesome to see the babies enjoying it!
Jumpin’ Jellyfish: It’s for babies, but it’s kind of fun! It’s kind of short though. Like you go up and down 3 times, and it’s over.
Radiator Springs Racers: The ride was pretty mediocre. The part when they wake up the monster car we had to close our eyes! The racing was fun though, and we won!
Tower of Terror: Overall the best ride in this park! Heimlich is really close to that though. The drops are fun, the view is amazing, and the theme will knock your socks off!
Toy Story: This ride is pretty fun! The line is always super long though, so go in the morning or night! It is fun to shoot the targets, but may be hard for some little children.
California Screaming: We both wanna go on this super badly, but we always chicken out!
Enjoy your trip at Disneyland!
